A
big ‘thank you’ from the Godmanchester Community Association to all the
Key Workers; Carers; the NHS teams; Emergency Services and so many
more, for their outstanding efforts during these unprecedented times.
As you will know from previous notifications, our local events so far
have been cancelled. However, THE BRIDGE magazine lives on – with
special thanks to Colin Hyams, Alan Hooker’s right-hand man and our
local advertisers – who, without their continued financial support, this
project would not proceed.
A growing group of
residents have joined this community charitable activity, which takes on
the form of a monthly draw – 47% of the receipts as prize money; 47%
being distributed to worthy local causes of your choice – ranging from
‘Midnight on the Causeway’ to the Mill Lade Dredging project – and 6%
covering administration costs. Participation takes the form of a
minimum annual commitment of £12 giving you 12 monthly entries
(shares/lucky numbers). If you wish to commit to a larger stake in the
draw, not a problem. The monthly draw is carried out by theTown Mayor
at its Town Council meeting – 1st – £300, 2nd – £100, 3rd – £80 and 4th –
£50.
