PICNIC IN THE PARK – once again, thank you to David Sibley for the photos giving our popular community event loads of atmosphere. Stage acts kicked off with Godmanchester’s Combined Schools’ Choir; followed by three outstanding local acts – Sophie Farrington, Jake Harfield and Tia Lewis. Bethany Jane & Bro took to the stage next, followed by a last-minute change to the line-up ‘The Sidekicks’ – wow! The afternoon had to be delayed for 20 mins due to a summer downpour – families hunkered down under their brollies, headed to the bar or joined a lot of our team at the entry gates – a rendition of ‘Singing in the Rain’ could be heard. BUT, the sun came out and Rule the World: Take That tribute act followed by FLASH: A tribute to Queen belted out some all-time favourites – people were on their feet immediately. Entertainment in the Kids’ zone covered circus skills and more provided by Just Karen – kids versus parents joining in, no contest, kids always come out on top. Studio 88 were on hand to provide some stylish ‘Hair and Glitter’ throughout the event.Another successful, family, extremely busy afternoon. Looking forward to 2025 when Picnic in the Park will be 25 years old.
